Preparation is an important part of acing a UX interview. We recommend the following:

• Do research on the product and the company.
• Do a demo, if possible.
• Look up everyone you are talking to, on LinkedIn, check out whom they are, and find common ground.
• Ask direct question such as, “How would I interface with you in this job?”
• When applying for a higher-level position, such as VP or director, do a lot of research on the competitive landscape for that company.
• Always be prepared with thoughtful questions for the interviewer as well.
